Hong Kong Cha chaan teng Bing sutt Noodles & rice
If you’re in Zhubei, Hsinchu and craving a legit taste of Hong Kong, Tin Lok Lane is the spot to be. It’s a classic *Cha Chaan Teng*—a traditional Hong Kong-style café—run by a Hong Kong native who named it after the iconic Tin Lok Lane in Wan Chai. The vibe inside is pure nostalgia, making you feel like you’ve been transported straight to old-school Hong Kong. Their signature dish, the "Sorrowful Onion" Rice, is a total tribute to Stephen Chow’s cult classic film *God of Cookery*. It’s a bowl of fragrant Thai jasmine rice topped with the chef’s secret-recipe honey-glazed *Char Siu* (sweet BBQ pork), homemade soy sauce, zesty ginger-scallion oil, and a gorgeous runny fried egg. It’s limited supply every day, so get there early! You also shouldn't miss the Stir-Fried Beef *Ho Fun* (flat rice noodles). It’s got that essential *Wok Hei*—the smoky "breath of the wok"—which is the true test of a master chef in Hong Kong cuisine. Other crowd-pleasers include the "Crispy Piggy" bun (toasted with butter and condensed milk), classic Silk Stocking Milk Tea, Iced Lemon Tea, and their legendary HK-style French Toast. Everything is à la carte, there’s no service charge, and they’re happy to do takeout if you’re on the move.
